Below  you can find the steps how to change this (if you have owner rights).

1. Open the SharePoint Library
2. Click on the gear icon
3. Select Library settings (or List settings)
4. the General Settings screen will open
5. Select "Versioning settings"
6. Make sure 'Create major versions" is selected
7. Change to the number of major versions you want to keep.
