Issue:

Due to the new update on Adobe reader, some features(quick print and preview) sometimes do not work and some people get the below Error message:


Resolution:


Solution 1:

- Disable the new version: Click on the  "hamburger menu" in the upper left corner (3 horizontal bars where the old "File" menu used to be) then Select Disable New Acrobat.

- Disable Thumbnails preview in windows explorer: Click on Edit>>Preferences> Under the general table unselect "Enable PDF thumbnails preview in Windows Explorer", then click on OK


Solution 2Do this if solution 1 doesn't work.

  1. Uninstall Acrobat and the Creative Cloud desktop app using the cleaner tool.
  2. Remove Adobe folders from the following locations:
    • C:\Program Files, C:\Program Files\Common Files
    • C:\Program Files (x86), C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files
    • C:\ProgramData, C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming
    • C:\Users\username\AppData\Locallow, C:\Users\username\AppData\Local
  3. Reinstall Acrobat
